I recently returned from a glamorous cruise on Scenic Eclipse around Baja California and the Sea of Cortez. The itinerary was wonderful, but the ship itself was exceptional! There are 10 unique dining experiences offered- everything from fine dining, casual eateries, a cooking class and a sushi bar! Honestly, cruising with Scenic Eclipse was the best food experience of my life! The executive chef was a winner on Top Chef and it showed. My favorite restaurant was Lumière- serving up a 7-course French meal with wine pairings (delicious!) Let’s not forget about the 70+ world class wines to choose from and a whiskey bar. One evening we did the “night market” where we witnessed an exceptional chef cook up 8 dishes right in front of our eyes. It was a delightful experience!
Exciting Activities
Scenic Eclipse offers a wide range of activities and excursions including kayaking, snorkeling, helicopter rides, stand up paddleboards and a submarine ride. I personally took the submarine ride 60 feet below water and it was a wild experience! I enjoyed stand-up paddleboarding around sea turtles on the Sea of Cortez. My land excursions were equally as exciting. I hung upside down in Cabo while ziplining and rode an ATV through magical wineries full of orange and olive trees in Ensenada (before wine tasting of course)! My mother enjoyed the hikes that were offered and a winery tour. Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation, there’s something for everyone!
Exceptional Service
The staff on board the Scenic Eclipse are incredibly friendly and offered exceptional service. From the moment you step on board, you’ll be treated like a VIP. I’m not kidding when I say I had my own personal butler- who brought me pinot grigio at 5pm everyday, breakfast in the morning and cappuccino in the afternoon. I was spoiled for life!
