After months of being cooped up at home- what a better excuse to take an international vacation than a friend’s dazzling destination wedding! Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita did not disappoint. It was the perfect spot to recoup, re-energize and get back into what I enjoy to do the most- travel! With a prime location on the Pacific coast- mesmerizing views of the turquoise ocean greeted us every morning and every evening!
Before the big wedding celebrations started, we decided to take a boat ride to the Marietta Islands. This cove of uninhabited and fiercely protected islands is bustling with dozens of various bird species and equally as many impressive fish. You can spot the blue-footed booby, pelicans, manta rays and more. Snorkeling was equally as impressive!
With hard hats on, we had to duck our heads to squeeze through a cave while visiting the famous Hidden Beach. For a brief few moments we had the beach entirely to ourselves and it was giddily romantic. There was another small cave on the side we explored. It was an unforgettable experience- I highly recommend it! You must plan in advance as they only allow 160 people per day to visit.
We explored the town of Punta Mita one evening, located just 5 minutes from the resort. There are a handful of lively restaurants, bars and shops and the vibe was enjoyable. We ate at Restaurant Mina and the fish tacos were delicious! The rehearsal dinner was held at Manzanilla Beach and it’s been a long while since I have seen a sunset that beautiful! We ate authentic Mexican food while listening to a local band and couldn’t stop staring at the dream sunset with our toes in the sand.
The Four Seasons resort had plenty to offer. I savored the infinity pool and couldn’t get enough of the views from our room. My partner Eric enjoyed fishing from the beach. He caught a few groupers! I snorkeled from the resort as well. The lazy river always guaranteed a few laughs! And when you needed some peace and quiet the adult pool was a nice escape. The food was delicious- I loved Amara and the fresh sushi! My favorite lunch was the shrimp quesadillas. The service around the pools and beach was phenomenal.
The wedding ceremony was at nearby Kupuri Beach Club – stunning scenery greeted us and a well-equipped dance floor. While staying at the Four Seasons you are allowed access to a handful of beach clubs nearby. The after party was at Mitaco Beach and dancing until the wee hours was had.
The very last night or our dreamy escape a few of us ate sushi while watching another fantastic sunset. During the day we floated on the lazy river and told funny stories of the past. It was the perfect way to end an ideal destination wedding!
You do not need a negative COVID test to visit Mexico. You must fill out a health pass and obtain a QR code- you can do on your phone when you check in. You must also provide a negative COVID test before returning to the US. The resort offered the COVID test.
