This year has kicked all our butts and made us stop taking for granite the important things in life- such as family, friends and of course travel! Let’s face it- now more than ever we are craving connections, adventures and unforgettable memories. With the Holiday right around the corner I cannot think of a better gift than the gift of travel! There is no expiration date, all budgets can be satisfied, and travel is guaranteed to raise everyone’s level of happiness. Below are a few travel trends I’m noticing and getaway gift ideas:
Romantic Escape
Love has not been cancelled! And many relationships that have “quaran-teamed” together are more in love now than ever. There is no better way to celebrate a budding relationship than with an unforgettable vacation that will create life-long memories. All-inclusive resorts in Mexico have been extremely popular for my clients wanting to honeymoon, pop the big question or simply celebrate one another in a relaxing and romantic way! Hawaii is another favorable destination for 2021 and 2022. Imagine a couples massage on the beach followed by a Mai Tai while savoring an infinity pool overlooking the ocean and ending the evening with a sunset dinner cruise and a private luau. Need I say more?
Family Reunion Trip
I do not know about you, but this the longest I have gone without seeing my entire family and it stinks! We typically take 1-2 big trips a year together which makes living in separate states manageable. There is an increase in private villa demands which makes sense considering it’s an extremely convenient and safe way to all be together in a scenic location. Whether in Key West or the Amalfi Coast, renting out a villa is a fantastic way to spend quality time together while being surrounded with plenty to do! It’s a guaranteed good time for everyone. I personally stayed in a Villa on the Amalfi Coast with my family when my father turned 70 and everyone loved it!
Wellness Retreat
After surviving 2020 I firmly believe a reset, rejuvenate and recharge retreat is necessary for all of us! There are SO many health benefits to a yoga retreat- mentally, spiritually and physically. Close your eyes and imagine waking up to a healthy breakfast overlooking the ocean, followed by yoga on the beach and a meditation session while listening to the sound of waves. You already feel more relaxed and clear-headed huh? Popular yoga and wellness retreat locations include Costa Rica, Thailand, Arizona and Big Sur California. Let 2021 be all about refreshing the mind, body and spirit! Amen to that…
River Cruising
The deals are too good right now and the cancellation policy too flexible to not include river cruising on here! I considered naming this “cruising” in general but what I love about river cruises is that they are smaller and more intimate. You do not need to worry about the itinerary or added expenses- it’s all included and decided for you making the journey completely stress-free! As well as providing spectacular value. There is a “wow” factor too that can’t be overlooked as these ships are breathtakingly luxurious and offer daily stellar views. My clients took a river cruise up the Rhine River last year and had such a phenomenal time they are looking to do another one in 2021 around the Amalfi Coast.
Solo Travel
While some people are falling in love with their partner during quarantine, others are re-discovering themselves and falling back in love with number one. I have traveled solo countless times and I can honestly say I do not know a better way to get back in touch and rediscover yourself then explore a new land completely on your own. Solo travel builds confidence, provides an unexplainable sense of freedom and you will meet more people solo than with a partner or group (guaranteed). I traveled solo all around Spain for a month and returned conversational in Spanish, made many new friends and deveoped the confidence that I can basically do and accomplish anything!
