The award-winning Velas Resorts is welcoming travelers back to three of their resorts in Mexico. Grand Velas Riviera Maya, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit and Velas Vallarta all reopened on June 15, 2020 with a post-COVID-19 hygiene program in place. The program has seven main focuses. Velas’ new protocols are aimed at ensuring the safety and health of their guests and staff, and include having a doctor available for any medical evaluation that may be required. Also, a personal protection kit will be given to every guest that requests one. The kit will include gloves, hand sanitizer, wet wipes and a face mask. The resort brand has also created a dedicated spa hygiene program.
The reopening of Velas’ resorts is the continuation of what’s already been an exciting year for Velas, despite the temporary closures. Already in 2020, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit was awarded the AAA Five Diamond Award for the 14th year in a row and SE Spa by Grand Velas Riviera Maya was awarded a five-star Forbes Travel Guide rating, a distinction shared with only six other properties in Mexico.
I’m excited to hear news of resorts re-opening with increased safety and hygiene protocols! I can’t wait to visit Mexico and get some much needed beach time. Where are you itching to travel to next?
